El Salvador failed to increase the margin to two goals when Andre Blake saved a left-footed shot from Rodolfo Zelaya in the 60th minute.
Jamaica scored the tying goal on a penalty kick in the 64th minute, after El Salvador's Narciso Orellana was called for a handball in the penalty area. Orellana also received a yellow card.
Darren Mattocks made the penalty shot, beating goaltender Derby Carrillo.
El Salvador finished with nine shots while Jamaica had eight.
