The Tennessee Titans put wide receiver A.J. Brown on injured reserve Saturday, one day before a matchup against the New England Patriots.
Brown will miss the next three weeks and be eligible to return for a Thursday, Dec. 23 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Brown underwent X-rays on his ribs that came back negative Monday and was expected to undergo further tests.
Brown, 24, suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's 22-13 loss to the Houston Texans with what was initially called a chest injury. He also came away with a hand injury, playing 42 snaps before exiting with five catches for 48 yards.
Brown has 46 catches for 615 yards and three touchdowns on the season. He missed the Titans' Week 4 game with a hamstring injury.
The Titans (8-3) are already without Derrick Henry for the rest of the season and wide receiver Julio Jones for at least one more game with a hamstring injury. Jones was put on injured reserve Nov. 13.
